Whne I think about a warp to be paint...Hi Stephen,

Whne I think about a warp to be painted I begin by designing for the finished article. In this case a scarf.

I choose the fibre I want, the set required, and the width in the reed.

In this case the yarn is about a 5/2 grist, set at 20 epi. I wound 180 ends so the width in the reed is 9".

Since I want to do 4 scarves per warp, the warp is wound 10 yards long.

Then I send the warp to the dyer to work the voodoo she does so well and I get back the painted warp to weave.

Cheers,
LauraLaura Fryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06599868570350256631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-7372396969647466512010-03-02T09:44:15.747-08:002010-03-02T09:44:15.747-08:00They are fun and some much needed colour after too...They are fun and some much needed colour after too many grey days.

Cheers,
LauraLaura Fryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06599868570350256631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-83171967535465336952010-03-02T09:43:19.468-08:002010-03-02T09:43:19.468-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Laura Fryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06599868570350256631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-11721478924732367982010-03-02T06:40:25.187-08:002010-03-02T06:40:25.187-08:00I love these painted warps--great colors!
