It's a nice, rich blue with the darker parts leaning toward purple. You got some nice selections from them.Benitahttp://www.basicallybenita.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-81392320750038685302011-02-27T12:45:52.919-08:002011-02-27T12:45:52.919-08:00Your dyed bats are REALLY beautiful! One is the natural fibre, usually processed similar to hemp or nettle and the other is viscose.
Personally, I don't really care what cellulose fibre viscose is made from, I care about the process and except for Tencel, I haven't found any other producer who is eco conscious enough (yet). (I include soy fibre in this as well, since I really don't like the process). But there also is the real stuff. Natural bamboo fibre (very similar to natural ramie) and banana silk, which is a very interesting fibre but more for mixed fibre batts. If you're interested, I can try and find out which seller deals in natural banana silk. We had a workshop some years ago in the online guild abou excotic fibres and I still have the workshop notes.Ulrikehttp://www.handspindel.denoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-19705801130646291882011-02-26T19:11:56.602-08:002011-02-26T19:11:56.602-08:00They are Gorgeous! Still trying to reduce the small stash I do have, but don't have much time to spin these days.Sandra Rudehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04691078578557110217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-22292652886715036102011-02-26T14:15:29.360-08:002011-02-26T14:15:29.360-08:00Carol informs me the banana fibre is regenerated c...Carol informs me the banana fibre is regenerated cellulose. :)

Thanks for the clarification.

Cheers,
LauraLaura Fryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06599868570350256631noreply@blogger.com
