I use about 4 different types of looms, at different heights, with different chairs and different treadling systems so it's certainly a challenge. My favourite is the Texel loom which is a delight to use as the sinking shed balances the rising shed so it's very easy on the knees.

My least favourite is the narrow dobby, which is a real pain to thread up and rather wobbly besidesAndrew Kieranhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08997798351349771733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-49745754553667179282012-10-30T22:35:05.776-07:002012-10-30T22:35:05.776-07:00I am incredibly lucky to have Doug - for loom '...I am incredibly lucky to have Doug - for loom 'doctoring' if nothing else! Andrew, with an injury you need to rest and not push through to pain. Do heed the warning! Peg - there is an old Russian saying that if everyone tossed their troubles into a big circle and were told to fetch one out we'd all fetch what we tossed in there out again. Better the devil you know? :D And I hear you about the weight gain - it's another issue I have to deal with, too. :( Louisa, the sales were down significantly this year - sort of the deciding factor in making the trip on top of the bad weather. And it seems like the drive just gets longer every time I do it. :) Hope to see you next week at Circle Craft.
cheers,
LauraLaura Fryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06599868570350256631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-90986577225922164942012-10-30T21:31:15.838-07:002012-10-30T21:31:15.838-07:00I hope that the Seattle sale was worth it at least...I hope that the Seattle sale was worth it at least financially? And, for at least a few minutes, think (for the millionth time) about losing weight - that's my biggest challenge.

PegPeg Cherrehttp://www.secondwindjewelry.com/jewelry-weaving-blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-537158321255176863.post-69606093576473315352012-10-29T17:02:20.755-07:002012-10-29T17:02:20.755-07:00You're an example to us all :-) I'm lucky ...You're an example to us all :-) I'm lucky to be young enough that whatever hereditary conditions I might be prone to have yet to rear their head. All I suffer from is a dodgy shoulder from an accident which serves as an early warning system when my threading through or weaving posture isn't quite right.
